A man threw his belongings out of his apartment, and went on a knife attack at his apartment building, said police.

WORCESTER, MA—

On Thursday, Aug. 4, around 10:40 p.m., Worcester police responded to a Vernon Street address for a report of an assault with a dangerous weapon.

After speaking to witnesses, police learned that the resident of the second floor of the building (later identified as Ramon Castro, 48, Worcester) had been screaming, banging on the walls of his apartment and throwing his belongings into his back yard.

A 58-year-old woman who lives on the third floor apartment tried to go down to the first floor and call the police. As she did, Castro exited his apartment with a knife in hand and chased her, said police. The victim was able to safely enter the first floor apartment and call police, and Castro headed back to his apartment.

A 23-year-old man who lives on the third floor checked on the female victim, and Castro left his apartment and chased this man down the stairs to the first floor.

The male victim ran to the front porch of the building with Castro chasing him. Once on the porch, Castro ran into a 15 year old male, said police. Castro stared at the male victim in a threatening manner while holding the knife, causing the victim to fear for his safety. Before the arrival of police, Castro returned to his second floor apartment.

The police went to the second floor and located Castro. He was placed under arrest without incident and is being charged with three counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
