Worcester Man Charged After Accidentally Shooting Himself
The 26-year-old man found shot on Elizabeth Street on Monday is facing multiple charges in connection to his own shooting.
WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police have arrested the 26-year-old man who was found shot along Elizabeth Street on Monday afternoon. Tajawn Boutwell-Campbell likely shot himself while sitting in a car, police said.
Police found Boutwell-Campbell shot in the leg along Elizabeth Street just before 4 p.m. Monday. Police said he gave conflicting accounts of how the accidental shooting occurred. Police described his injuries as "non-life threatening."
The shooting happened about two blocks south of the UMass Memorial Medical Center campus along Belmont Street.

Boutwell-Campbell was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, improper storage of a gun, receiving stolen property over $1,200, carrying a gun without a license, and multiple other charges.
