New Apartment Building Planned For Former Auto Shop In Worcester
A three-story dwelling is being proposed at the site of the former Westview Auto Body.

WORCESTER, MA — A brand-new apartment building is being proposed for the former site of an auto body shop in Worcester.
A new three-story dwelling is being proposed at 625 Franklin St., the site of the former Westview Auto Body. An application for the new apartment building was filed with the Zoning Board of Appeals by Mr. Capitalx LLC.
The approximately 27,382 square foot multifamily building would consist of 29 residential units, including one ADA accessible studio, 10 standard studios and 18 one-bedroom units, according to the application.

The studio units would be 312 square feet, studio-plus units would be 468 square feet and one-bedrooms would be 624 square feet.
In addition to apartments, the site will also feature interior recreation space, bike storage, a lobby area, common areas, an outdoor recreation space and 27 parking spots.

The proposed building would be built next to 631 Franklin St., a new 28-unit apartment building. The project was built on the site of the former Chioda's Trattoria, according to real estate developer Michael Ermani. The restaurant closed in 2022.
The Zoning Board of Appeals is expected to vote on the proposal in its next meeting on Apr. 27.
