WORCESTER, MA – The inaugural Ron Bouchard Race For A Cure Golf Tournament successfully raised funds to donate two new Honda Odyssey vans to Hope Lodge in Worcester. “The vans are a vital lifeline for cancer patients traveling daily from Hope Lodge to Worcester and Boston hospitals for cancer treatment. We desperately needed new vans and we can’t thank the Bouchard family enough”, said Debra Aharonian, Hope Lodge Director.
The Ron Bouchard Race For A Cure Tournament also served as a tribute to Mr. Bouchard, who passed away from cancer on December 10, 2015.
The Tournament, organized by the recently formed RB Racing Charity, is a non-profit serving the communities surrounding the Ron Bouchard’s Auto Stores that bear his name.
Ron’s wife, Paula Bouchard and their son, Chad, created the Tournament and the Charity. “What better way to keep Ronnie’s memory alive than to have his name on comfortable vans giving cancer patients their rides to treatment”, said Paula Bouchard. She went on to say, “we remember how Ron embraced his community, his love of life and his love for everyone close to him. Ron is remembered for his generosity and his impact on everyone. Forming a charity in his name to give back to the community is what he would have wanted.”
RB Racing Charity is a nonprofit corporation, created in 2016 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (pending). The charity is a public charity committed to helping with the fight against lung cancer and to preserve Ron Bouchard’s legacy of helping to improve the local community and the lives of children.
