Shots Fired Near Worcester Courthouse: Police

Police did not immediately find any victims following the Thursday morning incident.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police responded to gunfire downtown Thursday morning near the Worcester County Superior Court.

The gunfire broke out along Main Street just before 11:30 a.m., which is when police received a notification via the city's ShotSpotter gunshot detection system.

There were no injuries related to the shooting immediately reported, police said.

"At this time, no victim has been located. The incident was not connected to any city school and is under investigation," police said in a tweet around 1 p.m.

Worcester police did not release any further details about the incident.
