Underage Male Charged With Burglary In Worcester

Police said the suspect jumped into Patch Pond to escape.

WORCESTER, MA — A juvenile in Worcester was charged after a breaking-and-entering incident on Thursday.

At around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, the victim in a home on Mill Street said they saw a male breaking in on their security cameras, according to police. After a search, police said they found a male matching the suspect's description on Glendale Street, who ran from officers and jumped into Patch Pond to escape.

Officers determined he was a juvenile after arresting him, police said.

He was charged with Unarmed Burglary in Nighttime, Larceny Under $1,250 (two counts), Malicious Destruction of Property (two counts), Possession of Burglarious Tools and Resisting Arrest.

This comes after two breaking-and-entering incidents in nearby Tatnuck Square, according to police. Detectives are investigating whether the suspect was responsible for those incidents as well.
