WATCH: Singer-Cop Belts Out Glen Campbell's 'Rhinestone Cowboy' In Cruiser

Tom Hurley's "been walkin' these streets so long, singing the same old song," he knows every crack in the dirty sidewalks of Worcester.

WORCESTER, MA — Fans of Glen Campbell mourned the loss of the country legend, who died on Monday at age 81 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Campbell had a string of hits but perhaps none that crossed over genre lines as far as "Rhinestone Cowboy," because everyone knows there's been a load of compromisin' on the road to their horizon.

Tom Hurley, who's been a Worcester police officer for 26 years, paid homage to Campbell by singing a few bars of "Rhinestone Cowboy" in his cruiser on Monday. Hurley performs regularly with the Drunken Uncles along with Robin Steiger and also fronts the Heavy Horses. A veteran singer, he sang, wrote the tunes and played the guitar with his band, Joe Rockhead.
