Weekend Weather for Worcester: A Mix of Heat, Sunny Skies and Showers

Hot, sometimes sunny, and chances for rain - even thunderstorms - this weekend.

WORCESTER, MA—While some stormy weather tore through the area on Thursday, blanketing the earth with much needed rain, the air is still heavy as the dickens.

In parts of Massachusetts, including Central Massachusetts, the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement warning of a hot and humid conditions throughout Friday afternoon.

"High heat and humidity will make it difficult for the body to cool itself," said the NWS. "Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check in on relatives and neighbors."

The heat, once again, will give way to perhaps more stormy weather, punctuated by periods of sunny, hot skies.

Here's the latest, per the National Weather Service:

  • Friday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 93.
  • Friday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 9 p.m. and midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.
  • Saturday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.
  • Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86.
  • Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.
