Woman Allegedly Broke Into Cars, Apologized While Fleeing
A Worcester woman is facing charges of breaking into several cars, and for possession of drugs.

WORCESTER, MA—A woman allegedly broke into a car, apologized, ran, and then broke into more cars a few streets away before being arrested, said police.
On Sunday, Aug. 7, at approximately 10:25 p.m., Worcester Police responded to a Heywood Street address for a report of a motor vehicle that was just broken into. The person who called the police met with them, and witnesses said a woman was spotted going through a car that was parked in the driveway. The caller said the suspect (later identified as Michelle Colon, 29, Cargill Ave., Worcester) was confronted before she ran away, and she apologized while fleeing.
Five minutes later, officers learned that residents on nearby Kenberma Road were holding a woman they had caught breaking into two vehicles. Officers arrived to find a man and woman holding onto Colon, next to which were two handbags. Witnesses told police they saw her going through two parked cars in two different driveways. A woman ran out of her home and confronted Colon, who began to run, but another witness yelled for help and a nearby male neighbor chased and caught Colon.
The initial caller from Heywood Street was driven over to the scene, and that caller identified Colon as the person who had been going through the car, said police.
Colon was placed under arrest and charged with 3 counts of Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle. A search of Colon produced several bank cards, health insurance cards, and other credit cards, none of which belonged to her. Colon was also in possession of 1 mg of Alprazolam, 20mg and 30 mg of Amphet Salts (Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine), a class E substance.
Colon was additionally charged with receiving Stolen property and Possession of a Class E Substance.
She was arraigned on Monday at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
