Here’s Where You Can Beat The Heat In Worcester This Week

Temperatures are expected to hit the 90s.

WORCESTER, MA — As temperatures are expected to reach the high 80s and low 90s this week in Worcester, the city is opening cooling centers for residents, according to a news release.

Cooling centers will offer bottled water and air conditioning. Here’s when you can go to beat the heat on Wednesday and Thursday:

  • Worcester Public Library Main Branch, 3 Salem Square - Open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.
  • Worcester Senior Center, 128 Providence St. - Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

You can access both locations using the Worcester Regional Transit Authority’s fare-free service.

City officials also warn residents to limit strenuous physical activities, stay hydrated and check on neighbors while temperatures are high.
