Worcester Man Facing Drug Trafficking Charges

Police found drugs after pulling a vehicle over early Thursday morning.

WORCESTER, MA — A man in Worcester is facing drug-related charges, according to the Worcester Police Department.

Juan Toro, 31, of Worcester, was charged with drug possession and trafficking. Police officers pulled a vehicle over on Southbridge Street overnight on Thursday, around 1 a.m., after it was found to be revoked or uninsured.

After asking the driver and passengers to exit the vehicle, officers found a number of bags of illegal drugs, including suspected crack cocaine and fentanyl. The drugs were found under the passenger seat, where Toro was sitting, police said.

Toro was arrested after an investigation, police said. He was charged with Possession of a Class A Drug with Intent to distribute, Possession to distribute Class B, and Trafficking in more than 10 grams of Fentanyl, along with some warrants.

The vehicle was towed, and its driver was summoned to appear in court.
