Worcester Parking Ban, School Closures As Winter Storm Nears

A Wednesday storm may drop up to 4 inches in the Worcester area, plus high winds.

WORCESTER, MA — A new winter storm Wednesday will mean a parking ban and school cancelations in Worcester.

Wednesday's storm may bring up to 4 inches of snow to Worcester before a changeover to rain late tonight. The storm will also bring wind gusts up to 35 mph, which may mean power outages after heavy precipitation.

A citywide parking ban begins at 2 p.m. — which is also when snow is set to begin — and means that parking is not allowed on the odd side of any ancillary street. Parking will also be prohibited on either side of main arteries, bus routes, emergency routes and downtown-area streets.
