Worcester Schedules Overnight Water Plant Maintenance
The city said the work could briefly affect pressure or water service.
WORCESTER, MA — The city will perform overnight water filtration maintenance over three nights this month.
Worcester scheduled essential maintenance at the city's Water Filtration Plant for Apr. 9, Apr. 16 and Apr. 23. The city said the work is intended to improve the plant’s functionality and reliability.
On each of those nights, maintenance will run from midnight to 4 a.m.

The city said the work may cause a brief drop in water pressure or a brief loss of water service during those four-hour windows. Water service will be returned to normal at the conclusion of each overnight period.
The city is encouraging all water users to conserve water during operational periods, such as avoiding laundry, dishwashing,and other high-consumption tasks whenever possible while maintenance is underway.

The notice also said critical and large water users should take necessary actions ahead of the scheduled work. The city did not provide additional details in the announcement about what actions those users should take.
