WORCESTER, MA — WPI sophomore Steven D'Agostino took top honors at the NEWMAC debut of its weekly baseball awards on Monday. D'Agostino, a Shrewsbury resident, earned the conference's Pitcher of the Week award. D'Agostino had two outstanding starts for the Engineers during WPI's spring break trip to Central Florida. The sophomore lefthander began his week by striking out five in a three-hit shutout of Waynesburg, PA, and ended the the trip by with seven strike-outs in six innings during a 17-1 victory over Wentworth. For the week D?Agostino was 2-0 on the mound with a 0.69 ERA. He struck out 12 and walked just two while holding opponents to a .182 batting average.Information via readMedia
