Wrentham Police Commend 10-Year-Old Boy For His Quick Thinking

10-year-old told police he believed two strangers in a car told him to get in about 3 Friday afternoon on Thurston Street.

Wrentham Police received a call about 3 Friday afternoon on Thurston Street regarding a 10-year-old boy who believed two people in a car told him to get into their vehicle. The boy stated he had just got off the school bus and began walking away from it, when the second vehicle in line behind the school bus stopped.

He told officers the vehicle was about six feet from him and was stopped in the roadway. It did not pull over to the curb or attempt to get closer to him. He described the vehicle as dark maroon, late-model SUV with the side rear windows tinted. and the side front windows clear.

The boy observed the passenger side door was open and could see the arm of the passenger holding the door handle. He then heard someone say “get in” at which point he looked toward the SUV and could see the driver who appeared to be a male with spiked up hair.
