7 MI Beaches Closed Due To High Bacteria Levels

The list includes one beach in southeastern Michigan.

MICHIGAN — Multiple beaches across Michigan are closed due to high bacteria levels, mainly due to storm water runoff.

As of Friday, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy has cited seven Michigan beaches for increased bacteria levels. They are:

  • Lake Michigan - Henes Park (Menominee)
  • Lake St. Clair - St. Clair Shores Memorial Park Beach (Macomb)
  • Saginaw Bay - Whites Beach (Arenac)
  • Saginaw Bay-Lake Huron - Arenac County Park (Arenac)
  • Saginaw Bay-Lake Huron - Hammel Beach Road Access (Arenac)
  • Saginaw Bay-Lake Huron - Twining Road Beach (Arenac)
  • Saginaw Bay-Lake Huron - Singing Bridge Beach (Arenac)
