All MI Rite Aid Stores To Close
Rite Aid has said its faced falling sales, increasing competition and mounting debt stemming from opioid-related lawsuits.
MICHIGAN — All Rite Aid Michigan stores are closing amid its bankruptcy process, a spokesperson for the pharmacy chain told Patch Wednesday.
Rite Aid, one of the nation’s largest drugstore chains, initially had 186 stores across Michigan before the pharmacy began listing dozens for closure over the past few months. Those closings were expected to happen sometime this fall.
In addition to the stores, Rite Aid also said it planned to down its distribution center in Oakland County this Friday. That closure will affect 191 workers, whose roles include warehouse worker, driver, forklift operator and managers.
