MICHIGAN — High schools around Michigan are preparing to welcome their students back to class for the 2023-24 school year.
Proud parents, students, and alumni might claim their school is the best of the best— and some of them have the evidence to back it up, according to the rankings of the best high schools in Michigan from Niche.com and U.S. News and World Report.
In fact, three public high school in the Michigan are among the best in the nation — rankings from U.S. News and World Report has City High Middle School in Grand Rapids, International Academy of Macomb in Clinton Township and International Academy in Bloomfield Hills among the top 200 schools in the U.S.

The publishing company also ranked the best public and private schools in the state, based on six measures: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment performance, state assessment proficiency, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance and graduation rates.

The platform combined user input — ratings from current students, alumni and parents — with quantitative data.
