Governor
Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer cannot run again after serving two terms.
On the Republican side, candidates include Rep. John James and Oakland County businessman Perry Johnson.

For the Democrats, candidates include Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson and Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.
U.S. Senate
Democratic Sen. Gary Peters chose not to seek reelection in 2026.
For the Democrats, former executive director of the Detroit Health Department Abdul El-Sayed and U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens are running for the seat.
On the Republican side, former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers ran unopposed for the seat.

U.S. House 10th Congressional District
Three Democrats are seeking the seat, including Eric Chung, former Pontiac Mayor Tim Greimel and attorney Christina Hines.
The three Republican candidates include Michael Bouchard, Steffan Demetropoulos and attorney Justin Kirk.
The district includes southern Macomb County and part of Rochester Hills.

U.S. House 11th Congressional District
Four Democrats are seeking the seat, including Attorney Aisha Farooqi, State Sen. Jeremy Moss, court administrator John Paul Torres and engineer Don Ufford.
Only one Republican, Troy Mayor Ethan Baker, is running for the Republican nomination.
The district includes most of Oakland County, including major cities Auburn Hills, Ferndale, Pontiac, Royal Oak, Troy, West Bloomfield Township and Wixom.

U.S. House 13th Congressional District
Incumbent Democrat U.S. Rep. Shri Thanedar hopes to fend off a primary challenge from Rep. Donavan McKinney, a two-term state lawmaker from Detroit.
Taras Nykoriak is running unopposed for the Republican nomination.
The district includes most of Detroit and multiple downriver communities.

All 110 seats in the State House and all 38 seats in the State Senate are up for election. Democrats hold a narrow 20-18 lead in the Senate, while Republicans hold a narrow 58-52 lead in the House.
Depending on where you live, you may also see county races, school board seats and hospital district elections on your ballot.
