National Furniture Retailer Closing Remaining MI Stores
The final sales come amid the struggling retailer's ongoing bankruptcy process.
Nine Value City Furniture stores across Michigan are holding going-out-of-business sales as they prepare to close for good, according to a news release.
The final sales come amid American Signature Inc.'s (Value City's parent company) ongoing bankruptcy process. The struggling retailer plans to close all its 89 stores across 13 states.
ASI filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in fall 2025 and began selling company assets and closing stores. Seven Michigan stores were planned to close at that time.

"A sale of this magnitude will bring never-before-seen values to a broad selection of top-quality furniture already offered at truly affordable prices," said SB360 President Aaron Miller, on behalf of the joint venture, in the release. "We encourage everyone to shop early during this limited-time event while selection is at its best. The compelling liquidation discounts on stylish furniture for every room of the home will make this a short sale in these stores."

All sales are final, with no refunds, exchanges or gift cards accepted, the company said.
