The Jewish Historical Society of Michigan welcomes local resident and author, Benno Levi, to the Jewish Community Center in Oak Park this afternoon. Mr. Levi shares his story of emigration and triumph in his book The Sweetness of Freedom: Stories of Immigrants. The book received the 2011 Michigan Notable Book Award. The book was edited by Martha Bloomfield and historian Stephen Ostrander. The authors will discuss their experiences and autograph copies of the books. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
