TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants Raises More Than $60,165 for JDRF

Funds raised through a one-day statewide Dine to Donate event

Livonia, Mich.-based TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR), a family-owned restaurant group with an expansive portfolio of casual dining, quick-service and family dining restaurants throughout the state of Michigan, and its Applebee’s, Olga’s Kitchen, Del Taco and MOD Pizza restaurants raised $60,166 benefiting the JDRF (formerly known as Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) through a one-day statewide Dine to Donate event held on Thursday, August 18. TSFR Director of Marketing Barb Pasciak made the announcement.

Throughout the day, TSFR’s owned and operated 66 Applebee’s, 25 Olga’s Kitchen, four Del Taco and five MOD Pizza restaurants donated 10 percent of all guests’ food sales to JDRF, a leading global organization exclusively focused on ending Type 1 Diabetes, which is an autoimmune disease impacting 1.25 million Americans. The funds collected have been earmarked toward accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat Type 1 Diabetes and its complications.

“The work that JDRF does improving the quality of life for many individuals is truly life-changing,” said Pasciak. “As TSFR leads the way in the restaurant industry, we support many organizations throughout the state, and it is an honor to be a proud long-time supporter of such an inspiring organization such as JDRF. We are thrilled to have raised these funds to ensure that JDRF’s funding for its 50 human clinical trials can continue to grow and expand.”
