Birmingham Farmers Market 12th Season Concludes with Celebration

Trick-or-treating, hayrides, pumpkin carving demonstrations and more fall fun await at the End of Season Celebration.

The Birmingham Farmers Market’s 12th season will close with an End of Season Celebration on Sunday, October 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Market organizers welcome the community to attend and celebrate a season that brought large crowds, smiling faces, delicious produce, savory smells and live entertainment to Parking Lot 6 each Sunday since May.

Attendees may take a ride on a hay wagon and visit the Kids Zone, hosted by the Birmingham Education Foundation, for a fun pumpkin craft. Pumpkin carving demonstrations and live music are also on the agenda. Chef Paul Grosz from The Stand Gastro Bistro will be preparing their Brick Oven Spaghetti Squash with brown sugar and cinnamon. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and collect a special treat from the farmers. Don’t forget your cameras; you’ll have some great photo opportunities!

October brings a bountiful selection of fall produce, in addition to fall-themed home accessories, floral arrangements, gourds and pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. Shoppers will also enjoy baked goods, freshly prepared foods, donuts, apple cider, spices, eggs, syrup, jams and jellies, fresh meat, fish, poultry, soaps and dog treats.
