Birmingham Students Serve on City Boards for a Year

Students see how policies are shaped and government works under partnership between city and school.

BIRMINGHAM, MI – Four Birmingham high school students were sworn into office at a recent Birmingham City Commission meeting to serve as student representatives on city boards.

Three of the students attend Seaholm High School, and the fourth attends Groves High School, according to a post on the city’s Facebook page.

Through an educational partnership between the city of Birmingham and Birmingham Public Schools, students serve for one year as non-voting members of select boards and committees.
