In 1925, the Birmingham School Board officially recognized the sports of baseball, football and basketball, and Birmingham's athletic programs have been expanding ever since. The Birmingham Historical Museum and Park has collected various artifacts and historic images from Birmingham's sporting history, and will be displaying them until January 2011.
