Honest Birmingham Citizen Turns in Large Amount of Cash
Rather than pocketing it, honest citizen doing "the right thing" turned in a large amount of cash to Birmingham police.

BIRMINGHAM, MI – If you think there aren’t any honest people left in the world, consider what happened at the Birmingham police station Thursday afternoon
Rather than pocketing it, a citizen turned in a “large amount” of cash after finding it on Henrietta Street, south of Maple Road, police said.
“Obviously, a good, honest person found loose money and turned it in to do the right thing and hopefully turn it in to find the owner,” Birmingham Police Commander Scott Grewe told Patch.

If the money isn’t claimed, the citizen who turned it in may be entitled to it after six months of trying to find the rightful owner through advertisements and other procedures.
“There are some hoops to jump through,” Grewe said.
