Readers' Choice: Level Multisport Voted Best Place to Buy Sports Gear in Birmingham

The votes are in, and when it comes to buying sports gear in town, Birmingham Patch readers are clear: they are liking Birmingham newcomer .

Patch readers had a variety of sports shops to choose from in , from the tried-and-true staple, , to and .

However, with 61 percent of the vote, Level Multisport came out on top as Birmingham's favorite place to buys sports gear. Open for only a couple months, the shop at 528 N. Old Woodward Ave. is owned by husband and wife team Christine and Adam Rosender. The shop specializes in triathalon gear — including bicycles, running shoes and swimwear — as well as yoga clothes.

The shop also offer bicycle repair services and hosts a Saturday morning running group, .

Christine said she and Adam had lived in Birmingham for several years and thought it the perfect location to open a sporting shop.

"There is a big sense of community and lots of outdoor activity in and around the downtown area," she said.
