Should U.S. Suspend Visas from Ebola Countries? Patch Poll

Two U.S. representatives ask Homeland Security Committee to suspend 13,500 visas in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.

In light of Thursday’s news out of New Haven, CT about a possible case of Ebola, should visas be temporarily suspended to people from west African countries affected by the Ebola virus?

U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller, a Republican representing Michigan’s 10th District, thinks so. She told WXYZ, Channel 7, that she plans to ask U.S. Department Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and Secretary of State John Kerry to temporarily suspend 13,500 vias currently held by people living in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, where thousands of people have died from the Ebola outbreak.

Texas Congressman Michael McCaul is joining her in the request to the Homeland Security Committee.
