Teens Report 'Stranger Danger' Along Old Woodward
The suspect was driving a red sports car, possibly a Mustang.

Two teenage girls told Birmingham police that a man in a red sports car, possibly a Ford Mustang, approached them about 6 p.m. Sunday, June 7, as they walked on Old Woodward near Hamilton and offered them candy.
According to a news release, the man was standing outside the driver’s door of the parked vehicle when he reportedly said, “Would you girls like some candy from a stranger?”
He reportedly opened his car door, put his keys on the roof of the vehicle and started walking toward them. The girls turned and ran away from the man. They did not see him again.

He is described as a white male in his 30’s with a dark beard and dark hair combed back. He was wearing sunglasses. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the man.

The Birmingham Police Department reminds parents to talk to their children about stranger danger situations and encourage them to call 911 regarding suspicious circumstances. Anyone with information regarding the June 7 incident is instructed to contact Detective Kate Long at (248) 530-1771.
