Townsend Hotel Executive Chef Earns Top Honors
After winning the 2014 Chef of the Year award, Drew Sayes will advance to the American Culinary Federation's Central Region Competition.

The executive chef at the toney Townsend Hotel in Birmingham is the 2014 Chef of the Year.
That’s according to the American Culinary Federation Michigan Chefs de Cuisine Association, which honored Drew Sayes at its Chef of the Year Awards Gala, the Observer & Eccentric reports.
Sayes now advances to the American Culinary Federation’s Central Region Competition.

Following tradition, the Townsend Hotel will host the 2015 gala as the venue represented by the 2014 winner.
Sayes has been executive chef at the hotel for two years. A Detroit metro native, he was formally trained at Oakland Community College’s Culinary Studies Institute in Farmington Hills. He earned his executive chef certification in August 2012 through the American Culinary Federation.
