Ann Romney Stops in Bloomfield Township Friday

Ann Romney campaigned in Bloomfield Township on Friday at a pair of stops to help rally local support for her husband, Republican Party Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney.

She attended a rally this morning in Hudsonville, Michigan—near Grand Rapids—and also stopped by the Franklin Cider Mill, according to Channel 7's website. The local campaign stop also included a private fundraiser at a home along Long Lake Road that snarled traffic near the Franklin Road intersection for about 30 minutes early Friday afternoon. Multiple Bloomfield Township police officers helped direct traffic, while the campaign bus parked at the Bloomfield Township Municipal Complex nearby.

The Bloomfield area has been fertile fundraising territory for the Romneys, who both grew up in Bloomfield Hills and attended Cranbrook. Campaign finance data shows through the first half of this year.

The visit also followed Vice Presidential debate between Republican Paul Ryan and Vice President Joe Biden Thursday, to which she said Ryan did "a great job," had a level head and was very smart, Channel 7 reported. She also said his character and integrity showed during Thursday's 90-minute debate.
