Auto Larceny at L.A. Fitness; Coats Stolen from Dick's

Bloomfield Township

A patron of the Bloomfield Township LA Fitness reported her purse was stolen from her vehicle while she worked out on Tuesday. The woman said she walked out of the gym and saw a suspicious SUV parked next to her vehicle, Bloomfield Township Police Department reports said. The SUV, described as a blue/grey Chevy or GMC Tahoe, pulled away as she approached. She then saw the passenger window to her vehicle was smashed and noticed the purse was gone. 

The purse contained cash and several credit cards. No suspect information was available, but detectives are trying to identify the vehicle and a possible perpetrator from video surveillance footage, police said.

Larceny

A shopper told police that she accidentally forgot her purse in a shopping cart when she left the Hollywood Supermarket on Nov. 9, reports said. The woman realized the purse was missing a few minutes later and returned to the store, but the the purse was gone.

No suspect information was available, but officers were attempting to locate video surveillance footage of the parking lot.

Retail Fraud

Employees at Dick's Sporting Goods reported two people ran out of the store with winter coats that they didn't pay for on Monday, police said.

The shoplifters, a man and a woman, fled with North Face jackets valued collectively at about $1,000. No specific physical descriptions were available.

Bloomfield Hills

Simple Assault Reported

Officers with the Bloomfield Hills Department of Public Safety are investigating an assault that occurred between two women in an office building Tuesday, reports said.

A Troy woman arrived at the department at about 1:30 p.m. to report that she was forcefully poked in the chest by the finger of another woman during a dispute in a building in the 39000 block of Woodward Ave., a report said. There were no injuries reported, and police were trying to identify a possible suspect for further investigation. Further details were immediately unavailable.

Cranbrook Death Investigation

Chief Rick Matott said no new information was available regarding the sudden death of Cranbrook student Caleb Lei last month. The investigation remains ongoing between the department and the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office.
