Bloomfield Hills Man Takes New Development Position

Khalfani Stephens brings a wealth of experience to the position, including a stint as business development manager for the state MEDC.

The City of Farmington Hills has hired Khalfani Stephens as the new Director of Economic Development. He started in his new position on jan. 20.

Stephens previously worked as a Business Development Manager for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) as part of the field staff based in Lansing. Prior to that, he was employed as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Pontiac.

Stephens has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University and also received two Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Michigan, one in History and another in Linguistics. He also holds two Professional Development Certificates from the International Economic Development Council and the National Development Council.

Stephens is a Board Member of the Livingston Oakland Human Service Agency (OHLSA), belongs to the French American Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA). He and his wife Alicia, the Vice President/Service Company Communications Manager at Comerica Bank, live in Bloomfield Hills with their two sons.
