Bloomfield Township Woman Bound to Bed During Overnight Home Invasion

Police remind residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

An elderly Bloomfield Township woman was bound to her bed while a group of men ransacked her home in the 2000 block of Rambling Way early this morning, police said.

The woman was not injured in the ordeal, but was forcibly subdued by four or five men after she confronted them inside the home at about 2 a.m., Lt. Phil Langmeyer said.

The men were wearing masks and forced entry to the home. Silver flatware was taken and the investigation is ongoing.

"She was elderly and home alone when they forced their way in," Langmeyer said. "We haven't had anything else like this in the township but want people to stay alert and let us know about any suspicious activity immediately."

Langmeyer said Wednesday that he could not release more information at this time.
