High-profile fundraiser in Bingham Farms will prompt intermittent closures at around 6:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.

Metro Detroit motorists should expect intermittent closures along Telegraph Road this evening as President Obama makes his way to a private fundraiser in Bingham Farms.

Both sides of Telegraph Road in Bingham Farms will be shut down for the president's motorcade at roughly 6:45 p.m. and again at 9:15 p.m., said Lt. William Castro of the Franklin-Bingham Farms Police Department. Those times are estimates and the shutdowns should last no more than 10 or 15 minutes, he emphasized.

Obama is in Michigan, and will attend a cocktail and dinner event at the home of Birmingham businesswoman Denise Ilitch. Tickets for the evening reception, formal photo and dinner are $40,000, while the cost for the dinner and a candid photo is $10,000.
