Feature Photos: Bloomfield Township Open House 2012

This year's event featured a special surprise honor to former Supervisor Dave Payne.

Despite the weather, residents turned out Sunday for Bloomfield Township's Annual Open House and enjoyed family-friendly activities, including live demonstrations by the Bloomfield Township Fire Department and Bloomfield Township Police Department.

Bloomfield Township Supervisor Leo Savoie also surprised former Supervisor Dave Payne in a special ceremony that dedicated the Public Services Building in his honor. Payne, who announced his retirement in June 2011, started his 41-year career with the township in what was then called the road department. He was joined by wife, Debbie Payne, and several former colleagues on the Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees.
