Graduation: The Lahser High School Class of 2012
Lahser students move on following special ceremony Sunday at the O'rena.
ROCHESTER — Roughly 200 students graduated from Sunday with one eye on their achievements and the other focused on the future ahead.
“This has been great, but I’m looking forward to college now,” said Amber Halliburton outside the O’rena on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester. She said she plans to stay in town an attend for Oakland Community College in the fall.

“It was a great ceremony,” said her mother, Lisa Halliburton-Williams.“Watching her walk across that stage was so exciting.”
Other parents said it would be a little easier to let go but they were excited nonetheless.

“This is a great time, and this is our last one, Thank you Jesus!” said an elated Melvina Brown after pausing for photographs on the steps leading to the O’rena with new Lahser alumnus Deon Brown and oldest daughter Juelan Brown, who graduated from Lahser in 2009.
Lindsey Elena Ferguson and Nate Cole gave the senior student address and the combined Lahser choirs performed a rendition of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer.”
