This information was supplied by the Bloomfield Township Police Department. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction

A resident in the 1900 block of Cragin Drive reported that he found his home ransacked upon returning from work at about 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, police reports said. Bloomfield Township police officers responded to the scene and found no signs of forced entry. They later learned the homeowner inadvertently left the doors to the garage unlocked.

Two gold rings valued at $1,400, seven watches valued at $1,000 and an Apple computer valued at $600 were taken, reports said. Officers canvassed the neighborhood but no suspect information was available. The investigation is ongoing.

Painting Stolen

A large painting in a cherry wood frame was taken from a common area within the office building at 10 W. Square Lake Road sometime between Sept. 26 and Sept. 29, police reports said. The painting, estimated at 40"x56", was on a wall near the elevator on the third floor. It is valued at $400 and was not reported missing until this week. A detailed description of the painting was unavailable. There are no suspects at this time, but police are reviewing surveillance camera footage for clues, reports said.
