Investigation of Morning Fire in Bloomfield Township Under Way
Firefighters from three departments contained the blaze to the large home on Village Lane this afternoon. No word on injuries.

Several members of the Bloomfield Township fire and police departments remain on the scene of a house fire that ripped through the attic of a home on the township's east side this morning.
Officials with the said they were called to the small street off of Quarton Road just west of Franklin Road at about 10:45 a.m. Officials from neither the fire department nor police department would confirm if there were any injuries or if anyone was home at the time of the blaze.
Firefighters had to tap the fire hydrant on the other side of Quarton Road, causing police to block off the area near Van Ness and west of Farmers Street. Several motorists were forced to turn around on nearby driveways, including Mary Reem's.

"I couldn't figure out what was going on, but the traffic's like doubled along here," she said while standing outside trying to get more information.
Firefighters from West Bloomfield and Southfield reportedly assisted at the scene. The blaze appeared to be well under control by noon and was completely out when the Bloomfield Township Fire Department's fire investigation unit van arrived at the scene shortly before 1 p.m.
