Man Robbed at Bloomfield Township Grocery Store; Rolex taken from LA Fitness

Strong-Arm Robbery
A man was robbed of jewelry during broad daylight in the parking lot of a Bloomfield Township grocery store Monday afternoon, police reports said.
Bloomfield Township police officers were called to the for a strong-armed robbery that just occurred at about 12:30 p.m. and encountered a 63-year-old Pontiac man who said he was pushed from behind by a stranger, reports said. While pushing, the perpetrator grabbed hold of a gold chain around the man's neck and pulled it off. He was last seen running east on South Boulevard. The chain was valued at about $500, reports said.
The victim was not injured. He said the thief was a black man, between 20-30 years old that wore a white hooded sweatshirt and red baggy shorts.

Officers from the Bloomfield Township and Auburn Hills police departments, and a K-9 unit from Troy searched the area but could not locate the man.
Larcenies
- A patron at the reported that a Rolex watch and a ring were taken from a locker while they worked out on Tuesday, police said. Reports said the items were in a locker secured with a padlock that was cut off sometime between 4:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Total value of the stolen items exceeds $18,000. No suspect information was available.
- A motion-activated camera that a resident was trying to use to identify a local litterer was stolen, police reports said. A resident in the 800 block of Waddington told officers he placed the trail camera in a bush to find out who was responsible for littering on Aug. 20, and that the camera was gone the following afternoon. The camera, valued at about $200, was taken sometime between 9 p.m. on the 20th and 4 p.m. the following day. No suspect information was available.
Home Invasions
- 7400 block of Wing Lake Road: A resident reported their front door was forced open and that electronics and jewelry were taken sometime between Aug. 8 -13, police reports said. The home had an alarm system that was not activated at the time. No suspect information was available.
- 600 block of Overhill Road: A resident told police that he suspected someone tried to enter his home while he was away earlier this month. The man said he noticed several pry marks on a kitchen window, but that no entry was gained, and nothing was taken. The man said he believed the attempted break-in occurred sometime between July 30 and Aug. 8.
