Police Arrest Shoplifters in Bloomfield Township

Two shoplifting suspects face retail fraud charges following arrests in separate incidents last week at Bloomfield Township stores, police said. 

Aleksandr Bogdanov, 19, is charged with one count of retail fraud and another count of minor in possession of alcohol for an incident reported Nov. 19 at Target. Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department responded to the store after security guards witnessed Bogdanov place a bottle of vodka and a video game in his jacket, police reports said.

When security confronted him, Bogdnaov allegedly dropped the alcohol and ran out of the store and into a vehicle waiting outside. He also reportedly left the video game at a closed register before he fled. Reports said an off-duty police officer saw the man running from the store and gave police the license plate number of the vehicle he got into.

Officers arrested Bogdanov, of Bloomfield Hills, through further investigation. He received a $5,500 cash bond at arraignment in 48th District Court and remained at the Oakland County Jail until he bonded out on Nov. 28, jail records show. A court date is pending.

Alleged Shoplifter Crashes After Brief Chase

Lovoria Triplett, 49, is charged with one count of felony retail fraud and felony fleeing and eluding police for a Nov. 26 incident at the Home Good store in Bloomfield Township, reports said.

Officers responded to the store for a report of retail fraud in progress and started to chase Triplett, who allegedly ran out of the store upon seeing them pull up. She got into her vehicle and drove off, but struck multiple vehicles parked in the store lot and was arrested without incident, reports said. Authorities reported no injuries.

Triplett, of Pontiac, received a $100,000 cash bond at arraignment and remained in custody Saturday morning at the Oakland County Jail due to a probation violation, records show. Prison records indicate she served more than a year in custody on a retail fraud conviction in Oakland County before she was paroled in August. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next week.
