Another water meter stolen
Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department are investigating the theft of a water meter and copper piping from a vacant building, police reports said.
Officers responded to the Penske Corp. building at 1819 Telegraph Rd. at about 12:15 p.m. April 30 after a caller reported seeing a man remove a backflow meter from the building. He was gone when police arrived. No physical description was available, but the man appeared to be about 50 years old, according to reports.

The case is similar to another taken from the outside of sometime last month. Richard Campau, 51, from Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Township and Troy investigating several recent metal thefts.
Sgt. Kurtis Dudek said Campau is a suspect in that theft, but was in custody at the time of Monday's incident. He remains at the Oakland County Jail and is charged with two counts of larceny and one count of possessing dangerous drugs — heroin, stemming from his arrest in Pontiac, court records show. Charges in the Bloomfield Township incident are pending.
