Police Blotter: Second Bloomfield Township Pharmacy Burglarized; Process Server Cited

Prescription drugs were stolen during the burglary of another Bloomfield Township pharmacy last week, police reports said.

Bloomfield Township police officers responded to a burglar alarm at the just before 11 p.m. on April 14 and found the front glass door to the building shattered. The burglar entered the pharmacy suite within the building and took several bottles of prescription narcotics, according to reports.

Detectives are still investigating a similar burglary at the at about 4:45 a.m. on April 2. and the security gate to the business pried open. Several bottles of prescription drugs were taken.

Police have not released any physical descriptions of the suspects at this point of the investigation.

Other incidents under investigation

• A fraudulent debit card was used at the to purchase more than $1,000 worth of gift cards and miscellaneous merchandise, reports said.The card was used at about 4:20 p.m. on April 15.
• The back flow water meter and copper pipes were taken from the outside of . The materials were reported missing this week, but no time-frame for the theft was available.
• The radios from four new vehicles were stolen from the parking lot at about 2 a.m. on April 18, reports said. Officers responded to the lot and found the windows to four vehicles smashed. No suspect information was available.

Process Server Cited for Trespassing

An overzealous process server was ticketed for trespassing after he forced his way into a Bloomfield Hills office to serve legal papers last week, police said.

According to reports, officers with the responded to the 200 block of East Long Lake Road at about 10:50 a.m. on April 11, after a receptionist reported the intrusion.

An office manager told police the server forced their way past the receptionist and left legal documents for an employee before leaving abruptly. It was unclear from reports if the employee was present.

Chief Rick Matott said officers identified the man and cited him for trespassing on the premises, which is a civil infraction that typically carries a fine.

"He was told to stop and didn't and moved passed the reception area," Matott said. "Usually they're pretty congenial guys. They've got a job to do and normally don't have to break the law to do it, but this was different."
