Jewelry Theft from Home Reported

Officers with the Bloomfield Hills Public Safety Department are investigating a larceny report filed this week by a resident who discovered valuable jewelry missing from her home a few months ago.

Police responded to the home in the 100 block of Harlan Drive after the woman reported a gold bracelet with diamonds missing at about 3 p.m., Monday, a news release stated.

The woman said she last saw the jewelry, valued at $4,000, in the typical place she stores it within her home on June 6. She said she noticed it missing a few days later and that she delayed reporting it while she searched her home and cars for it unsuccessfully.

She suggested an employee doing work at her home could be responsible, reports said. Officer’s attempts to contact the employee were unsuccessful because the given telephone number was canceled.

Anyone with information is asked to call the department at 248-644-4200.
