Resident Interrupts Daytime Intruder

A Bloomfield Township man reportedly scared off an intruder during a home invasion on the township’s northeast side on Tuesday, police said.

The homeowner was in his basement in the 1400 block of Lennox Road when he heard a loud noise just before noon, according to reports. He went upstairs and noticed the front door was forced open. Fight After Game Leads to Alcohol Charge

Bloomfield Township police officers broke up a fight following the varsity basketball game at Lahser High School against Birmingham Seaholm Tuesday night, reports said.

Officers on scene for the 7 p.m. tilt between the schools were summoned to the parking lot at about 8:30 p.m. for reports of students fighting. Officers broke up the two 17-year-old combatants and neither was seriously injured, reports said. They also didn’t want to press charges against each other over the fight.

During their investigation, an officer smelled alcohol on the breath of one of teens, who admitted to drinking earlier that evening. Reports said the teen had a blood alcohol level of 0.06.

The officer cited the Bloomfield Hills teen for underage drinking, a misdemeanor offense, and turned him over to a parent that was called to the scene.
