Police Blotter: Identity Theft, Home Invasion, Auto Break-in

Personal information stolen

A Bloomfield Township woman discovered her personal information was compromised after she received an iPhone that she did not order delivered to her home, police reports said.

The woman called police July 8 after the device was delivered to her home in the 3700 block of West Wabeek Lake Drive. The packaging indicated it was purchased on eBay and the woman told officers she did not have an account. Investigators determined a fraudulent eBay account was created with some of the victim's personal information, but none of her financial accounts appeared compromised, reports said.

The victim said she did find a suspicious inquiry made on her credit report, but did not lose any money. The investigation is ongoing.

Home invasion reported

The Bloomfield Township Police Department is investigating a home invasion reported in the 100 block of Douglas Drive.

Officers responded there July 8 and found the garage service door to the house was kicked in, reports said. Three flat screen televisions, a laptop, miscellaneous jewelry and clothing were taken. The break-in is believed to have happened sometime the previous night or very early morning hours. No suspect information was available.

No suspects in auto break-in

The driver's side window of a vehicle was smashed in an apparent theft attempt Monday, police reports said.

Officers were called to the 5600 block of South Cranbrook Cross after the driver's side window of the a vehicle was discovered smashed in the early morning hours. Nothing was taken. Reports indicate the damage occurred sometime between 1:30-7:30 a.m. No suspect information was available.
