Police Blotter: Officers Investigate Home Invasion; Information on Suspicious Vehicle Sought

Police probe home invasion
Bloomfield Hills police are investigating a burglary at a home in the 1000 block of Kensington Road, reports said. Officers responded on June 1 after the homeowner returned and discovered her front door was smashed and the home ransacked. Officers found several drawers open and items strewn on the floor, but no one was inside. Jewelry worth an undetermined amount was reported missing from the master bedroom. The crime occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. that day, reports said. No suspect information was available.

Men arrested during alleged drug transaction
Three men were arrested and could face charges for trying to make a drug deal in the driveway of an unoccupied home, reports said. Officers responded to the 300 block of Woodridge Road for a call about a suspicious vehicle at about 11:30 p.m. on June 3.

They found two vehicles parked in the driveway and smelled marijuana coming from one of the cars when they made contact with the occupants, reports said. Officers found suspected marijuana in the vehicle and learned the men, ages 18, 18, and 19, tried to make a deal for a small amount of the drug. They were processed and released, and warrants are pending.
City to bill for fuel spill
A truck leaked roughly five gallons of hydraulic fluid on a residential street Tuesday morning, and the city is trying to recoup costs for the response.
Bloomfield Hills officers responded to the 300 block of Woodridge Road about 10 a.m. for a possible HAZMAT situation and found a large truck with a mechanical issue leaked the fluid onto the ground, reports said. Employees from the public works department used oil dry to clean up the mess. No injuries were reported. The cost of the response has not been determined yet but a bill will be sent to the trucking company, Public Safety Director Rick Matott said.

Police seek help to locate suspicious vehicle
Bloomfield Township police are looking for a vehicle and its occupants that were seen in the area of recent larcenies. Authorities are urging residents to call them if an older model, blue Ford pickup truck with wood panels over the bed of the truck is spotted anywhere in the township, reports said.
The most recent theft occurred Tuesday in the 2000 block of Pendleton Drive when a homeowner cutting her grass said her mower was taken while she took a break. The woman said she went indoors at about 9:15 a.m. for a short time and the mower was gone when she returned.
Police reports said the pickup truck was seen in the vicinity, and that officers believe it is involved in similar incidents within the township. Police said the vehicle as been spotted in subdivisions on trash pickup days. Police are asking for help to locate the vehicle and identify the occupants. Anyone with information is asked to call the department at 248-433-7752.
Also according to reports:
- Three vehicles parked outside Golling Chrysler were damaged in attempted vehicle thefts, police said. Employees at the dealership discovered the damage on June 3 to three vehicles parked in a fenced-in overflow lot, reports said. The damage occurred sometime between June 1 and that morning. No suspect information was available.
- The window of a vehicle parked at a residence in the 4000 block of Carillon Drive was smashed and a laptop was taken from inside on Wednesday. No further details were immediately available.
- A golf cart was taken from the Wabeek Country Club, at 4000 Club Gate Dr., sometime during the overnight hours on June 3. There are no suspects.
