Police: Cash Taken from Tanning Salon; 'Hidden' Key Used to Enter Home

Bloomfield Township police officers responded to the on the township's north side on Tuesday after employees discovered a theft, police reports said. The employee reported that an undisclosed amount of cash and checks were taken from the business sometime overnight. Police said the building was locked and that there were no signs of forced entry. No suspect information was available and the incident remains under investigation.

Officers were also called to the Fox Hills Condominiums in the 600 block of E. Fox Hills Dr. on Aug.8 after a resident reported a stolen bicycle. Reports showed the bicycle, valued at $450, was unlocked in a basement storage area at the time of the theft, which is believed to be between Aug. 5-8. No suspect information was available.

Police were called to a home in the 100 block of Hamilton Road after 11 p.m. on Aug. 4 for reports of a burglary, reports said. Police determined a hidden spare key was used to the enter the home and that cash, jewelry and silverware were taken. The theft is believed to have occurred between 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. that night. No suspect information was available.
Identity Theft
A resident from the 2600 block of Pendleton Drive told police that someone used her maiden name and other personal information without permission to obtain a cash advance of $800 from her bank account. The fraud was reported earlier this week but it is unknown when the fraud occurred or how the information was compromised, according to reports.
Fraud Investigation
Officers stopped a vehicle on suspicion of drunken driving at about 1 p.m. Monday on Telegraph Road near the Square Lake Road intersection and detained the driver after a consensual search revealed a fraudulent prescription pad, reports said.
The driver was determined not to be under the influence of any drugs and was eventually released at the scene pending further investigation. Further details were not immediately available.
