Man Arrested for Felonious Assault With Knife in Bloomfield Hills

Officers with the arrested a Livonia man who reportedly threatened an employee at a Bloomfield Hills business last week with a knife, according to reports.
The 62-year-old man faces a count of felonious assault from the Aug. 9 incident that occurred in the 100 block of West Long Lake Road. Reports said that officers took a report at the station the following day from the employee, who claimed they had a verbal confrontation with the the suspect, whom they knew. The incident occurred at about noon, but further details about the altercation were not released.
The employee told police the man returned to the business at about 3:30 p.m. and struck them with a cell phone and made threatening gestures with a large knife, reports said. Another employee helped forcibly remove the suspect, who continued to make threats that other witnesses heard. Reports said officers corroborated the victim's account of both incidents with two eyewitnesses, and then arrested the suspect at his place of business in the 1000 block of West Long Lake Road without incident later that day.

He was booked at the station and lodged at the Oakland County Jail. Jail records show he is no longer incarcerated, but information regarding his bond or attorney was not immediately available.
Checks Reported Stolen
A resident in the 900 block of Ridgewood told police on Aug. 11 that he suspected a recently-hired employee stole business checks from his home and began cashing them without authorization. Several checks were cashed between Aug. 1- Aug. 9 for a total exceeding $4,500. Reports said the checks were made out to the employee by name, but were not legitimately signed by business owner.
