Police Seek Identity of Suspect in Fitness Center Auto Break-in

Man used a credit card taken from the purse of a Bally's Total Fitness member as she worked out, authorities said.

Bloomfield Township police are looking for help from the public to identify a man believed to have used a stolen credit card shortly after it was taken from a vehicle parked outside a local fitness center last month.

Officers responded to the Bally’s Total Fitness when a patron reported discovering their vehicle damaged just before 8 p.m. July 15, reports said. The passenger side window was completely smashed in and a purse containing cash and credit cards were taken. The theft occurred sometime between 6:15-7:50 p.m. Investigators learned one of the cards was used at a Meijer store in Southfield shortly after the theft and then again at a different Meijer location, a news release stated.

Police are also investigating a larceny from a vehicle that was parked outside a home in the 300 block of N. Willamsbury Street overnight on Aug. 6, reports said. The vehicle was parked in the street and unlocked. A laptop was taken.
